An Invitation Made

Although we’re greatest enemies

I’ll extend an invitation,

we’ll have ourselves a summit

and repair disintegration.

I’ll go and make an offer

which refuse, he won’t be able;

we’ll go and build scenarios

where we sit around a table.

Did he really think that I’d

relinquish any power,

and that before his greater might

I’d lay down and cower.

The media, they lapped it up,

a story to be told;

a falsehood to the world of news

so feasibly it’s sold.

I knew it would never happen,

so, I’m sure, did he;

between Kim and the Donald

there will be hostility.

He’s the one that pulled the plug,

although I tugged upon the chain;

the vision of any lasting peace

has all gone down the drain.
