(Top), Devon Travis went two for three yesterday.

 

The Toronto Blue Jays finally won a series.

Yes, the Jays defeated the Philadelphia Phillies yesterday 5-3.

The Jays went ahead 2-0 at the top of the second inning.

At the top of the sixth inning, Dwight Smith Jr. drove in Justin Smoak and Yangervis Solarte wit a double.

In the bottom of the inning, though, the Phillies rallied back.

First, Aaron Altherr drove in Maikel Franco and Carlos Santana with a single to make it 4-2.

 Later in the inning, Nick Williams drove in Altherr with a single.

Thankfully for the Jays, Curtis Granderson hit a solo home run at the top of the ninth inning.

Blue Jay's Devon Travis went two for three at the plate and collected two RBIs.

Both starting pitchers had quality starts yesterday.

J.A. Happ of the Blue Jays gave up six hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out eight batters in 6.2 innings pitched.

Nick Pivetta of the Phillies gave up four hits, two earned runs, two walks, and struck out seven batters in five innings pitched.
