I’m glad you are doing better
Stop expecting everyone to do the same
Just because you were lucky
it doesn’t mean I’m lame
You don’t understand
what it feels like to be me
with you in my life
I will never be free
All the talk about being better
feeling the need to compare
don’t you see what you’re doing,
it is nowhere near fair.
You make me feel like crap
how don’t you realize?
what happened to your heart
why is it made of ice?
I am such a coward,
I can’t say it to your face
I'm really sorry,
but why does everything have to be a race?
I need to listen to people,
maybe they are right.
This isn’t worth the struggle
it isn’t worth the fight.

A mighty fine poem, rr.... this is very well penned.
Wed, May 30th, 2018 10:12pmEven those who suffer may try to make others suffer too. Battling depression does not mean someone will be a decent person - it doesn't mean they'll want to help others heal. Those who haven't endured the affliction won't understand. Some don't want to understand. Regardless if they understand or not, people who put you down and make you feel like crap are not worth keeping in your life.
It's not a race. Life is not a race. We are all different. We live differently, feel differently, heal differently. You're not a coward for not speaking up - some people prefer to be cruel when they're feeling good and those kinds of people are difficult to talk to, hard to reach. Someone with two ears may be deaf in both.
You need to do what's best for you. Look after yourself, and that means eliminating as much negativity from your life as possible. People in your life will always have a greater effect on your wellbeing than faceless people on social media. For yourself and your wellbeing, I think it's time to say goodbye to this person. Do right by you.
Best of luck, RR! I hope you figure things out! This is a powerful piece.

It's impossible to explain the feelings to someone that hasn't experienced them. Many friendships and relationships have been ruined by this inability to understand. Sometimes perstistance pays off, but not always. An excellent poem, rr.
