Every time I’m in distress; every time I cry,

I see my confidence bid farewell I see it going by.

I cannot stop the pain or suppress the tears,

I cannot pause my breath or talk about my fears.

Every time I am afraid; anxiety controls,

every move; every breath my heart is full of holes.

‘I know my worth’ is what I say but do I really know?

I ask for gold when I’m worth silver and it begins to show.

But I don’t know another way; I’m just not very strong,

My temper is another product of often being wrong.

I’m labeled, I’m mistreated; mind-fucked (and that too),

Am I worth gold, am I worth silver; what am I worth to you?
