We were frauds.

We sung our words to the heavens,

But they were empty words

That floated through the air like bubbles

With no real purpose

We sung how we had been healed by the faith

But our hearts were still broken

Held together with duct tape

They covered those wounds from sight

But we all knew

We all knew that we had no idea

Empty words flowed past our duct taped hearts

And we hoped that it was real

We prayed our prayers were going somewhere

And yet there we stood

On stage singing our empty words

In empty verses

Of an empty song

We sung and smiled but

The music was a cardboard wall

That hid our uncertainties from sight

But could be pushed down by the slightest wind

We all knew

We all knew that we knew nothing

We were frauds.
