First, Dixon Machado drove in Jose Iglesias with a RBI double.

Then, Nicholas Castellano drove in Machado with a single.

The Tigers went ahead for good in the bottom of the eight inning when John Hicks drove in Victor Reyes and Ronny Rodriguez with a single.

Niko Goodrum scored the Tigers seventh run later that same inning on a sacrifice fly by Jacoby Jones.

Solarte went two for four at the plate and collected two RBIs.

Castellano also went two for four at the plate and collected two RBIs.

Jay's starting pitcher, J.A. Happ, had a good day on the mound, despite the loss.

Happ gave up five hits, four earned runs, two walks, and struck out eight batters in five innings pitched.
