Trapped in a locked room

Barren

Quiet

The echoes of my thoughts within

Congested

Busy

No escape for what fills it

And I’m here

Within a locked room

This place is a filling station

Everyone moves forward

Everyone finds their path

They warm up the engine, refuel, and on they go

I stay here

Inside a locked room

An attendant with no greater purpose foreseen

No further path to follow than where I am now

Where the road has led me

Doesn’t make this the end of the line

My job for now

But I will clock out

I will slip my key in the ignition and drive away

But I will not leave this room

This locked room

Is expansive

There’s lots of ground to cover

Filled with trees and mountains

Fresh air and water

It is my filling station

The locked room

I travel my own road

Lone traveller

Following my own path

Lone journeyer

Should I unite with you, it would be nice

But I always travel alone

A locked room

The locked room

This locked room

Is my locked room

Only I hold the key

Not in my hand

In my mind

The door is always locked

But I can always step through
