My father, my friend,
Who was there when I was in trouble,
And now I was there till the end,
Taking care of you, and being on the level.

I watched you die right before my eyes,
The pain and fear you had every day,
And no one heard my cries,
And didn’t hear me say,
Goodbye Dad, my father, my friend.

I remember when I was young,
The times we had as father and son,
Camping and fishing when I was a Cub Scout,
Even when the weather was not good out.
We still had a lot of fun.

I know that I am not very good with money,
And I know that is not very funny,
But, you were there to help me,
Even if I could not see,
The help you gave me was more than the money that you would lend,
Thank you Dad, my father, my friend.
