“Adina, sweetheart, maybe you should go upstairs and I will talk to these guards, okay?” Mama said, talking to me, yet still looking at the tall people.

“Okay Mama!” I nodded happily and skipped upstairs to my bedroom. While I was skipping to my room, I past Max’s room. I stopped outside and slowly crept inside the room. I was curios and i wanted to see if there was any hint of where Max went to on vacation. As i crept in, i started to become suspicious. Red stuff was splashed across the walls and a pointy thing was laying on top of Max’s very important table. I wanted to leave the room urgently. It smelled like something died in here.

I ran out of the room and shut the door behind me. I decided to ask Mama about it, after she finished her adult conversation with the tall people who she called guards.

“Guards…” I tried to roll the word off my tongue. It didn’t sound nice, so I concluded that they were bad people.

I walked into my room, grabbed my teddy and sat crossed legged on my bed. “Mama is talking with the tall people. I don’t like them, they smirk too often.” I spoke to my teddy silently. I knew teddies couldn’t talk, my science teacher got mad when I said he did, but it was comforting to talk to another person, except Mama, who isn’t on vacation.
