A Matter Of How It’s Perceived.

He walked out of the meeting and his face was impossible to read. It could have been a great success, but alternatively it could have been a disaster. He was totally intent on giving nothing away; not one single clue.

He travelled down in the elevator with his companions and not one word was spoken. Nobody even chanced making a glance towards anyone and it was most not a time to even consider making eye contact.

Finally he found himself alone with his most trusted second-in-command. “So how did it go?”

He took his time before answering. The fact was, there was no way of knowing. There had been a meeting, which was all that he had promised. There had been no written documents made, no binding contracts, and exactly what they’d agreed on even he did not know.

“It was good,” he said. “How good? Well, that’s yet to be decided.”

The media would be the ones to determine that. They would be the ones to present it to the people and they would be the ones that would decide whether it was good, bad or indifferent. He’d insist that it was a triumph and let them prove otherwise.
