A poem about love & heartbreak. The realisation that you're stronger than you think, you have to depend on anyone.

I'm sitting in the rain, soaking through and through
Crying out in pain, thinking 'only if they knew'
My heart is breaking and my body is broken
Hearing the words before they are even spoken
'I can't do this anymore, I don't love you...'
'I've tried to make it work but we are through'

I'm sitting in the rain, soaking through and through
Shouting out your name, till in the face im blue
My chest is now hollow without you to fill it
My body is now shutting down and i'm not gonna fight it
I can't deal with the tears and the sleepless nights
The aching of my heart and the flashing of lights

I'm sitting in the rain, soaking through and through
I hear quick footsteps, i turn around and it's you
I look like a small child, crying, sitting at your feet
You look over my quivering body, and then our eyes meet
I realise i can still live without you, i dont need to give up, give in
I can still be strong and happy, i know this is a fight i can win.

I'm walking home in the rain, soaking through and through
I'm staring ahead, a smile on my face, and beside me, you
I turn around and say 'yeah you're right, this is over now'
'I'm not gonna cry anymore and i'll get over this somehow'
'I can't let my spirit die cause i'm scared of getting over you'
'I have to keep my head held high and somehow power through'.

The structure is good and it reads out like a song (least in my head)

Good start!

Yes. I am a songwriter. It definitely has a rhythm to it. Thank you for your comment.
