White, that was all that could be seen for miles the frozen skeleton of some forgotten city, in the distance there was a silhouette who looked as frozen as the city itself, his clothes were stitched together from odds and ends, his only protection against the unrelenting cold which surrounded him. The man stood there for a while before looking at the skyscrapers which dotted the landscape, there was a strange beauty in it all, though in this place people did not have the time to sit and ponder what they had lost all those years ago. A howl began to echo through the streets and with some zest the man picked his feet up, he had found what he was looking for. Before long the man had set upon a trail, the beast he had set apon was quick and agile darting through the snow as it hunted for prey, the man recognised the footprints almost immediately and swung off his shoulder a backpack he’d been carrying. The backpack was old and worn with old world patches covering it, what they signify only he remembers. As he unzips the pack the first thing that can be seen within is a picture, he takes it out only for a moment and gazes upon it. The picture is of a woman, he’s taken by her blue eyes and long blond hair, before he hears the howl again. Quickly he scrambles putting the picture back in, knowing he’s taken to long he pulls out a revolver its silver sheen glistening in the sunlight, “it's too loud” he whispers to himself under his breath before swinging his pack back on his shoulder and pacing after the creature, again he dissipears just another silhouette in the snow.
