A story about a small spark , in the universe.

I Was the Light
When the universe was first formed from the void, I was there.
A bright, shining speck of light, cast against the overwhelming darkness.
Bouncing from burning star to star, and from shapeless planet to planet.
Curious as to what was made, and what was to see.
Watching life slowly take shape, rising from the primordial.
Year to year, decade to decade, curiosity fading into malaise.
Suddenly, another speck of light comes bounding in.
Bouncing and frolicking around the galaxy, we two specks played our games.
Shooting through the skies, the primitive life of planets worship our shine.
Over the time I become attached to my partner spark.
I can not imagine the world passing without my mate.
Until i once awake, and the other spark is gone, off to the void to bounce and frolick alone.
Now once again all alone, there are no games for me.
No worship that seems complete.
Sitting still and curling inward, I lost my luster, no more to shine.
I was once the light, now a piece of the void.
