ACROSS THE CONTINENTS

 A Poem by Jack Kay

Across the continents and world at large

We have to come to face the truth of our demise

Great swaths of land lay fallow in ruin and rubbish

The gardens of our youth and little birds that no

   Longer exist,

Are barely  seen or be   heard to   sing

~

Across the continents and world at large

To breath the air has become a pain in our chests

The great black hole in the sky grows bigger by the day

And the God of our universe to whom we pray

No longer-

Listens to our pleas, for we have taken our

Earth and made it fallow as if we no longer care.

~

Across the continents and world at large

How can we turn the tide?

Oh why,

Can we not face the facts of truth

To speak the words of Save the Planet

Will no longer suffice, and the nations

Across the continents and world at Large

Must act in concert to have a plan

~

Across the Continents and world at Large

Under the Sun and in the rain and those that

Walk in clouds of swirling dust and suffer

Vicious storms .The animals , that we have

Failed to save

We must not whisper to save our earth.

We need to shout out the message

Across the Continents and world at Large

That Time will soon end when to cry

Will be in vain

Across the Continents and World at large
