Short Story by: mergioteaa
Come over, lets make a nest on the floor, lets turn out all the lights and watch the little flames dance creating shadows falling on the walls. Come over lets
drink tea, lots and lots of tea! I'll drink green tea and laugh at you pulling faces of disgust over my strange beverage choices whilst looking at your favorite mug and mumbling how milk doesnt
belong in a cuppa and how ''you people are strange''. Lets talk about things that simple minded people wouldn't understand, lets talk about the strange life of a butterfly that landed on your
shoulder yesterday, lets talk about religion, lets talk about the afterlife, go into detail of what the smell of your favourite flower makes you feel, tell me stories from your childhood, tell me
about your first heartbreak and what goes through your mind when you hear the sound of the first chirps in the morning.. Tell me what makes you happy, open up about what makes you sad, lets talk
about spirit animals and the full moon, for tonight lets just be ourselves, no judgment, no fear, no holding back, lets just get lost in the moment. Every now and again we will stop to listen to
every note of the quiet songs playing in the background, letting our heartbeats sink with the music, finding a meaning behind the lyrics of the songs that we have heard a thousand times before, we
will quietly smile at each other as the atmosphere around us becomes heavily intimate. Not the kind of intimate where we'd jump each others bones and get lost in a raw night of mindless sex no,
intimate in a sense of the atmosphere around us is so fragile that if anyone else tried to walk into our bubble the invisible aura of calm and happiness would simply burst leaving us feeling like
aliens in our own skin. Lets get comfortable on our own little cloud as we prepare ourselves for a long night ahead, lets break the stereotypes that promote that silence is awkward, because in
silence there is beauty. We will lay there for hours, smiling, giggling,talking...the night will last forever, but the hours will pass by oh so fast, before we know it it'll be 4am and my old ipod
will run out of charge as the last beats of our favorite song bounces back of the walls leaving us feeling peaceful and happy..and just as the music stops the first heavy drops of rain will hit my
window-we will sense a storm and on that thought the sky will light up from the lightning soon followed by thunder, I will rest my head on your chest and listen to your slow, strong heartbeat
whilst you put your arm around me to protect me from the demons of the storm, you will play with my hair because you know that it soothes me, as my heavy eyes slowly close. Mixture of your
heartbeat and the sound of the chaotic weather filling my ears, so soothing, so wild yet innocent! I will fall asleep and dream of the time when me and the father were walking across freshly cut
grass, heads tilted back, staring at the night sky, how he told me to breathe in and let the smell linger long enough for me to really appreciate it's existence, the dream will end with a smile and
suddenly I'll find myself in the grandparents garden, a 3 year old me trying to walk past a load of strawberries, falling over and pulling a face of unappreciasion as my old folks giggle at me..
The thunder will get too loud and I'll open my sleepy eyes, dragged out of sleep I'll look over at you, your arms still wrapped around me making me feel safe and peaceful..I'll close my eyes again
and listening to your heavy breathing I will fall back asleep, leaving any worries behind. Come over.. Let's have a night like in those old Hollywood movies, lets forget reality
exists.
