I wasn't home when my phone rang. Lord if only I could go back to that day. Right away I knew the news wasn't good...it had been a rough week already, no it can't be good. You said something happened with Dad and something about a gun. Then it hit me, I already knew. The walls within me caved and I couldn't breathe. This can't be real. Why is this happening to me? Had to get us home, pissed off wanted to make someone pay. I went as fast as I could, over an hour away. Seemed like forever on that highway. Make it back the house was packed. I had to head up town. Had to know for a fact. He unzipped the bag and there you were. Blood soaked and cold. I was chilled to the bone, then my heart broke. I'll never be the same. I took your hand one last time then walked away.
