My heart is literally breaking for all the Pedro's out there. Its not right what has happened. To take a child from its parent all in the name of a policy that doesn't work and to try to prove a
point is absolutely heartless and soul less and surely needs to stop. A young child coming here fearing for his life and trying to get away from a bad situation does NOT need to be locked up like a
criminal. He is a child. How can our Government continue to do the things it does and how can those who back these type of things look themselves in the mirror and think that this is a good thing.
Make America Great Again. Bah.

My name is Pedro

I'm 9 years old.

I came here with my mother

but some men took my mother and

whisked me away.

Now I'm scared and alone

and thrown onto a bus and shipped some where

I don't even know.

Where is my mother?

No one seems to know.

We just wanted to be safe

and start a new life.

There were gangs and killings.

I saw a man get shot in the head

right in front of my house.

We had heard that the US

was the land of the free

and the home of the brave

and had heard so many good things

about it.

And about the American Dream.

Well this is no dream.

It is my nightmare.

I can't sleep

I can't eat.

I am scared and

I want to cry.

I'm only 9 years old

and I don't understand

why any of this is happening

Where is my mother?
