I’m going on a date

A date with Time

There’s no telling where we’ll go

Time is our oyster

Perhaps we’ll see what lives in the Past

Or mayhap reflect on Time yet to lapse

The Present is boring

Nothing new

But there’s always something to discover

No matter the time.

Time has not asked me where I’d like to go

It’s taken off with me in hand

We come to a room, a room in my childhood home

There I sit, alone

A painful memory that house has always been

My Loneliness was the better part of those years

Looking back on it now with all I now have

My Loneliness makes me feel sad.

Past, present or future

There’s always something to discover

Happy memories remembered

Horrible times uncovered

Time has taken me on a journey to reflect

Staring into the pool of my Past, I don’t reflect but rediscover

Old memories made anew

Seeing who I truly was and how I’ve now come to be.

The summation of my experiences is not so neat and tidy

But I see myself clearer now

A better understanding

I am who I am now, but I mustn’t forget

I am who I am now because of who I was then.

Time took me on a journey to reflect

This time, the person I was I will not forget.
