i decided to try something new! i have always had a very big interest in outer space so, i'm wrote an informational piece about my favorite things discovered in space

By far humanity's greatest achievement is space exploration. Finding a way to tour the moon. To explore and photograph the cosmos.

And though we have already discovered so much, we have barely scratched the surface of what's really out there.


I am going to be discussing with you friends, some of the many great space discoveries.


Largest planet

Jupiter is the largest planet in our solar system. Measuring 69,911km, 1,300 earths can fit into it.

That is enormous to us. But somewhat small compared to other planets. One such planet is hd100546b. It is a gas giant so large in fact that its size is comparable to out sun. it’s radius almost 7 times that of jupiter or 960,000km makes this planet a true giant.

Though this planet is very big it is also very young 10 million years old, so it is said as this planet ages it will turn into a brown dwarf. A state between a low mass star and a gas giant.


Largest star

UY scuti is the largest known star. It resides in the constellation scutum which is relatively close to sagittarius A*, the supermassive black hole at the center of our galaxy. It is classified as a hypergiant star the largest class of star. Though UY scuti is the largest known star it is not the most massive. Massive meaning in mass not size. Uy scuti has a radius 1,700 times that of the sun. meaning if this star replaced our parent star (the sun) it would ingulf the vast majority of our solar system, stretching out to the orbit of saturn. Something worth mentioning is it has a very low density, which means it would have a very low gravitational field. Infact one of the lowest in the universe


Most massive star

The star name R136a1 weighs in at about 315 times the mass of our sun. it is located in the galaxy the Large Magellanic Cloud and is the reason we have the tarantula nebula. It is classed as Wolf–Rayet star, meaning it is very close to forming into another type of star. It will be so large at this point in its life span that it is hypothesised that it will explode and form a black hole instead. It is so massive that if it were in a binary system with UY scuti, UY scuti would orbit around it. Making R136a1 more dominant. This is only hypothetical, but if this star where to not explode, stay a star and become a red giant, It would be the new largest star, Due to its mass.


Largest planetary system

A planetary system is a star that has 1 or more planets orbiting that star. A planet known as 2MASS J2126-8140 is about 14 times the mass of jupiter and orbots the red dwarf star TYC 9486-927-1. It’s orbit is orbit is 140 times that of pluto’s, or about 1 trillion km. it is not yet known how this system formed.


Largest black hole

The black hole SDSS J140821.67+025733.2 is 196,000,000,000 times the size of our sun and 3 times that of our previous record holder ton 681.
