Lines about my face, hazel eyes and caramel skin. A trim physique and coordinated attire. That is the layer that I share with most of you.

Just beneath the camouflage you can see the dark circles. The impact of disappointment of self and others. The days of hope and faith have thinned my skin.

If you take the time and come closer, you will feel the anxiety just below the surface. If you touch my hand you can feel the tremors from fear in my bones. My belief in others is lost ; like the luminosity of the younger woman I used to see.
