the other half

My young age aches in impatience,

pondering the point without a person,

because I am not enough.

And whoever he might be

will never know my inner truth

or the thoughts that cross in the early morning,

because I torture myself enough.

And I only think of those older

describing the need to hold youth close,

but all I want is the selfish act of love:

a hand to hold under a bed cover.

And my age holds me back.
