Blame It On Me

Come on, lay the blame on,

make out it’s all my wrongs;

you are really faultless,

let’s put it in some songs.

My failings, oh, so many

have made it all so worse;

not worth even listing

we’ll just put them in a verse.

If I’d done things differently,

done a proper job of teaching,

I’d not be falling down this hole,

for help, forever reaching.

But hey, I am no expert,

that label goes to you;

you want to turn it all around

but YOU have not a clue.

So sure, there’s been some negligence

a lot of failures too,

but they can’t all be placed on me

for lots did come from you.

Your failure, well don’t worry,

you don’t cope with each day,

I’ll always bear the brunt of it,

deserved, is what you say.
