Broke In A Capitalist Society

I will suffer the consequences

Of my own stupidity

Quite Frankly, just not mean a thing

As I grumble in quiet relief

I will choke on my own freedom

And not know what to mean

If ever I could understand

What it is to be a "man"

I'll spin away into a cloudy rubble

Blinded by all the truth

That just never seems to make sense

Anger rushes thru me

And by the time it leaves me

I am broken by all the high prices

Only going to delay everything I want

The costly things that obsess me

Spin around my head

And I can only wait for the money

While everything breaks around me

Don't understand the purpose

Of always having to wait

Is it just to teach me patience?

Is it because I can't wait?

My months are planned out before me

What a way to live

Having to plan ev'rything I buy

Not very spontaneous

Not these days
