Only gone a day, and you’re already in love

With Las Vegas, a sun bleached desert paradise.

You’re telling me, that you’re never gonna come home,

I try to sway you, but there’s no compromise.

Tearing my heart apart, cause you wanna leave Maryland,

Seems like everyone I love, wants to get away from here.

I know you love Vegas, and Maryland can’t compare,

Hopefully you’re enjoying the heat, over 100 fahrenheit.

You saw the Grand Canyon, from ten thousand feet,

Got a limo ride, from the airport to your hotel.

You walked eight miles, all up and down the Strip,

In your head, those grandiose ideas start to swell.

Saw the fabulous sign, welcoming you to your new home,

Took a quick trip to Paris, then hit the Motor Speedway.

Making sure that you took a ride, on the High Roller,

Climbed up to the top, of the Stratosphere tower.

Waded in the arch gravity waters, of the Hoover Dam,

Then saw the world, from the view, of Hershey’s Chocolate.

From the MGM Grand Area, to Fremont Street, then straight

To the Mandalay Bay, did you get to see the Bellagio?

Got into the T-Mobile arena, even though you have Verizon,

Playing slots, blackjack and poker; living out all your fantasies.

Las Vegas or bust, that’s been your mindset since January,

You say it’s the only place, where you’ve got your sanity.

The heat of the desert, burning your skin and melting the pavement,

A hazy sunshine and blistering heat, is always the daily forecast.

Say you’ll fly me out, to see your house, in fabulous Las Vegas,

You say if you win a lot of money, then you’ll get me in first class.

You’ll have to be dragged back here, kicking and screaming.,

Regardless of how much money you win, you won’t leave willingly.

Some R&R your sore eyes, all the sights and sounds, must be so pleasing,

You say you’ll come back for me, but I’m feeling differently.

Only gone a day, and you’re already in love

With Las Vegas, a sun bleached desert paradise.

You’re telling me, that you’re never gonna come home,

I try to sway you, but there’s no compromise.

Las Vegas or bust, that’s been your mindset since January,

You say it’s the only place, where you’ve got your sanity.

Tearing my heart apart, cause you wanna leave Maryland,

Seems like everyone I love, wants to get away from here.
