Inside… Anger and grief are tearing him apart. Bit by bit they are shattering an already broken heart. And these people around him who call themselves his friends? None of them truly matter in the end. Because no amount of bandages can mend an injured soul, And no amount of people can banish this feeling of being alone. And besides… Though they say that in time he will heal, No one truly understands how he feels. Because they all believe him when he tells them he is fine. Although with just one look you could tell for yourself that it’s a lie. And nobody knows about all of the times he’s thought about killing himself. Because he just doesn’t want to disappoint anyone else. But he can’t! He can’t pull the trigger, he can’t tie the knot, Yet still this noose around his neck is already drawn taught. He finds himself choking though not at the end of a dangling rope, But on his feelings of rage and despair and the utter loss of hope. He is convinced that he is worthless by the words of countless others. Forsaken even by his so called loved ones his father and mother. And as a man… He was told to surround himself with friends and family. But what are you supposed to do when you have no friends and your family is just another enemy? Do you give up, and admit defeat? Or do you get up and climb back to your feet? Do you stand tall, prepare for the worst, and hold your ground? Or do you give in as their berating takes you round and round, Between anger and fear! Well I know at times it may seem easier to give in, You just can’t because then they would win. With little or no consequence they would have achieved their goal. They would have finally broken you, body and soul. So you must continue living in order to prove them wrong. And you must continue fighting in order to prove that you belong. So stay here! Stay among the living, stay among friends. Help them understand why you are broken. They will be the glue that holds your heart together And with them, because of them, you will begin to feel better. And then you can look back on those others and all that they have done, And you can stare them in the face and say... I have won.
