We cried out into the world

blind to physical features

and trusted love and kindness

to walk us through the storms

Yet the sun and moon worked as one to alter time

to alter you, morph you

into your inner child that craved to dig her way out

with newfound wings crippling its way out of a chrysalis

and waving the world hello

But your same species ate away at you

like a fire to a field

as they spit out your ashes

while you tried to be reborn and fly

You crawled to the surface with new life

evolution hit heavy on your fragile being

acceptance, understanding

never available when desired or desired when different

So you climbed to the sun while you burned your wings

and you knew this was for the best

for as you migrated toward the edges of the earth

you cried out to the world
