Thick-skinned Summer Rain

These teeny tiny drops of rain
Mock at me when fall on your skin
The jealousy that I endure can never be rated
O Summer Rain, is that all for what I have waited?
The showery drizzles now infuriate my heart
As on your shoulders they collapse and refuse to dart-
I’m jealous of their disintegration feasting on you
My soul goes to wrack and ruin and splits up too-
These sprinkles are taking away, each speck of my minds
I incline to stop, kill them leaving everything behind-
Their defiance rages the storm in my being
O Summer Rain, why you prompting this smarting sting?
Tonight’s shower is merciless, unpitying and severe
The music that it’s composing, is unsmiling and austere-
O the thick-skinned Summer Rain, what have you come to?
I’m inept to comprehend if it could ever be ‘you!’

This is a painting of heartbreak indeed. What's stunning here is the imagery you use to express and compose these lonely thoughts. Like using the rain as a metaphor for the touch of a lover, but feeling empty because summer has been a disappointment. It's like reading Romeo and Juliet, you are expecting them to have a happy ending, but they get the disappointment of tragedy, because their summer rain has become a vial of poison. The metaphoric lines are so beautiful to read, such as 'the music that it's composing, is unsmiling and austere' is just such beautiful poetic imagery, like Shakespeare and Mozart decided to compose a piece together consisting of poetry and music. The summer rain in your summer Rehmat will always create rainbows. Such a beautiful and brilliant poem dearest :)
