I need some advice but you don't know what to say.

In your loss for words, you tell me to pray.

But I've already fallen on my knees.

They're skinned up, bones are broken, from me beggin' God, "please!"

Please whisper any sort of answer, you don't even have to shout.

Well, God didn't say much...but he led me to believe it was a good idea to call you and let it all out.

I picked up the phone to call,

told you it all.

Once you heard what I had to say,

you disregarded me and told me to pray.

See, what you don't understand is that I've already folded my hands, closed my eyes and and waited patiently...

and you were the only answer the Lord had for me.

When I need comfort and affection,

don't be cruel enough to tell me to shift my eyes in another direction.

God gave me you, and no,

you're not supernatural, true.

I know you don't always have the answers, but damm I swear,

sometimes I think you're ignorant to your own faith---you don't even realize that are my answer to prayer.
