A little girl once had a beautiful dream To make the world less harsh than it seems But no one would give her the time of day Instead, they'd just push her out of the way To get their blood-stained hands on the latest phone A little girl had never felt so alone In a world where everyone's plugged in and on, A little girl wondered what she did wrong

A little girl became frustrated and mad At just how much the world turned bad She didn't understand it a single bit, And when injustice surfaced, she threw a fit: "Yes indeed, the times are a-changin, "And on a bare thread the future is a-hangin, "The world's turned so dark, the moon hides his face "Refusing to shed light on a hideous place"

And after she was torn apart straight to her core, She decided she couldn't take it anymore A little girl shot herself in the head And her death was trending seconds after she was dead By her funeral, she had tons of retweets Not even the President could compete

A little girl once had a beautiful dream To make the world less cold than it seems But no one would give her the time of day Nor would they give her a chance to say, "Why don't we love instead of hate? "Why don't we fix instead of break? "Rather than kill, why don't we heal? "Rather than argue, why not make a deal?" But people would rather fight instead of listen But people don't know what they are missin' And society doesn't seem to give a damn As long as they chow down on their processed ham

A little girl once had a beautiful dream But now that little girl's as dead as her dream
