Shaken

  (A Poem about Childhood Epilepsy)

Shh...She's sleeping...wait...oh my gosh... she can't stop shaking. She can't stop... She keeps hearing Beethoven's Fifth in her head over, and over, and over again. Her brain can't connect with her body. She can't stop. All she can do is lay there and shake. While in the back of her mind, she's screaming for it to stop. She hears a lullaby calling her back. She wakes. She couldn't stop shaking. She cries and prays that it never happens again. Scared to sleep. She couldn't stop shaking.
