Showed up on my doorstep, you did…as though you belonged there, and I was just a visitor in your neck of the woods...

Showed up on my doorstep, you did…as though you belonged there, and I was just a visitor in your neck of the woods

Dismantled my only line of defense, you did…like it was child’s play, breaking back into the heart I’d long forgot I had…

Told me you wanted me, you did…bad habits, bad mouth, bad eyes and all, as though I would change if you said otherwise…as though I needed your sanction to be me

Gave me a piece of the heaven in your head, you did…and it was crazy…and just like that, I knew you were insane

And just like that, I realized that so was I…that so was this, you, me, and every single thing in the whole wide world…

Made sense of it all a little too soon, I did…

Ruined the dream by waking up again, I did…

Showed up on your doorstep, I did…as though I still belonged there, as though I haven’t become just a visitor in your neck of the woods
