When I wrote this poem, I was thinking about God. I was feeling very melancholic. Sad but calm. I prayed before writing and all the thoughts jumbled in my head came to me. I felt like it was
perfectly captured. The words "In the Hollow" come from one of my favorite songs for which I am asking the Lord to keep me safe in the hollow of His hand. In this poem, I am admiring all of the
beauty of nature around me during a cold harsh winter. These thoughts and feelings were heavenly and sad, but they only last a moment which is why I have to capture them in writing right away or
I'd forget. Time is constant and things are always changing.

If only I could hear

the silence

early in the morning.

The nightly pain was all tense.

A breath of air

brushed off my brow,

speaking wisdom like flowers

while caught between ice showers.

Understanding is brief.

Only a moment

is remembered.

More hours cannot be sent.

Time is constant.

I stand in the hollow

of my Creator's hand,

each breath eases life's blows.

Tears as long as

waterfalls are silent words

that touch Heaven and bore

into the depths of Earth.

Woven in the depths,

He planted me on land.

Each morning, soft air

brushes my brow like sand.

The hollow is my

grounding.

I hear Earth praising

and I continue to be.
