I wrote this as an example for the BoMoWriCha House's first poetry challenge. It's terrible, but it's supposed to be written by kids in world, so I suppose that's alright ;)

Do not go into the woods
For you shall surely die.
The evil witch likes human flesh
And bakes us into pies!
The witch was killed this Autumn last
But Granny said she's back.
The Cleric took an axe to her
And killed her, slash and hack.
The witch's final words were said
And heard by one and all:
"You might think I'm dead and gone
But I'll come back and kill you all!"
A blessing laid upon the town
Protects us from the curse.
The witch cannot harm us here
But imprisonment is worse.
We cannot leave, in town we stay
'Til we grow old and die
When travellers come, we send them away
'Do your business quick,' then 'Bye.'
'You cannot sleep here, the inn is closed
You must camp outside the town.
For if you stay, you'll be one of us
Leave, and she will hunt you down.'
