(Sally)

The days were few. I haven't changed a bit. But they've already grown so much. Time is short in this world. Are they even ready? I guess I don't have a choice.

I walked down the road, leaving the forest behind me. I thought about everything that had happened. It felt like this was my punishment for my actions. I knew I deserved it, but I was worried. Worried about them. Are they alright? They won't be punished, right?

I didn't know where I was or what to do. I decided to follow the road, and let it take the wheel. I felt like my world was falling down. By letting my feelings get in the way, I'd created a disaster. They didn't deserve this. Who am I trying to convince? I'm an awful being. I should be punished.

After walking for almost two days, my body started to shut down on me. As I continued walking, I saw a small pond in the forest. I quickly went over to drink some water. As I was downing the water, I realized my selfishness, so I stopped. You don't deserve this. What are you doing? Stop. Just stop. You have done something unforgivable. Don't ever pity yourself.

"Miss! Are you alright?"

I heard a voice. Someone was calling out for me. Maybe it's just my imagination.

"Emma, call for a doctor right now!"

"I'm on my way!"

Who is talking? What are they saying? I don't even care. I should just stay like this. Who am I to deserve to live? I should be the one getting punished. I have nobody left to care for, or anyone left to care for me. He was the one and only.

I imagined a bright future together with him. I'd always wanted to be a good wife. And in the future a good mother. And he wanted to be a good husband, a good father.

Father...mother...child...wait. Their child. No. Their children!

"She is badly dehydrated and she has almost no body heat. Being out for this long in this cold weather almost got her."

"Will she survive?"

"Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on her. Go home with your father and why not come back to check up on her later?"

"Sure!"

"Thank you very much, doctor. I feared for her life for a second when I found her."

"I should thank you for bringing her here. She will be able to recover. You have nothing to worry about"

A spark of light started to grow inside of me. And that was when I knew what I had to do. I knew that it would take a long time. But they deserved it. I need to be there. I need to tell them. Maybe deep inside I also wanted to search for forgiveness.

"Good morning, miss."

I slowly opened my eyes. The light hurt, so I quickly closed them again.

"How are you feeling? A bit cold? Should I close the window?"

I forcefully opened my eyes. Who is this man?

A tall man in a white cape looked at me. He was sitting in a chair a bit away from me. I was laying in a bed. I scanned my surrounding. I could see a large tree outside the window. I could hear its leafs flickering in the wind. What a beautiful tree.

"It's beautiful, isn't it?"

The man continued to talk to me. I did understand his words. He spoke Gaeilge, or was it something else? Nevertheless, I didn't feel like talking. I only had one thing in mind. I needed to find them. Something could have happened to them. I was worried that someone else would find them before me.

"Miss? Can you hear me?"

I didn't know what to do, but I was in a hurry so I couldn't think straight. I almost jumped out of bed, but I quickly realized that I had tubes connected to me. I need to get out of here somehow. I really need to find them.

He walked up to me and sat down in another chair closer to me.

"Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"Yes. I need to go. Remove these tubes, please."

"I'm sorry. I can't do that. You need them to recover"

"I'm in a hurry. Please remove them. I'm feeling fine."

"I can't force you, but you should stay and wait for a while. The man who found you wants to see how you're doing. And his daughter as well".

"His daughter?"

"Yes. She looked very worried when you were unconscious".

"I see. I'll wait for them".
