She had wished so very hard to be more:
more beautiful, more brilliant, more interesting.
But as she grew, she was appalled to realize
how very little she had wished to be less:
less angry, less impatient, less unkind.
And she came to believe that her purpose was
to set this temporary world on fire:
to shine with compassion even in the darkest of times,
and to love so fiercely and fearlessly
that no one else would ever
have to wonder if they were
enough.
