A lonely winter feels like you…so cold and empty, it freezes my breath…

I miss the warmth of your tears trickling through my fingers upon your cheeks, as though to wipe them into nonexistence, instead of catching them greedily to horde in my heart

It was granted I would hurt you, but only because you wanted me to…not out of spite, or so that’s what I told you

And like always, you accepted that…you believed that when you shouldn’t have…not so simply…not so readily

A lonely winter looks like you…so unchanging, relentless outside the window…enhancing light to such magnitudes upon the ice that it’s unbearable to stare at

I miss being able to see through your eyes…this world is more than a heap of dirt, this hand is more than a worthless tool to destroy what matters the most

You always had it backwards; you didn’t need me at all like you thought

But who was I to tell you otherwise? You never believed that…you never accepted that

(I could hate you for this, but I won’t, because you won’t let me…)

A lonely winter sounds like you, slumbering, silent, drifting in flakes further down from the sky, to land melting on my tongue…

Your name is a most bitter sweet in my mouth, yet I swallow it gluttonously, without reserve…without remorse

I miss the summer; I miss the spring

I miss the fall and everything…

A lonely winter feels like you…so cold and empty…
