Love Witch

She is as wonderful as she is not,
the gentle tug between tides -
wanting to shorten the breath of one
while preserving the life of another.
Her touch is satin fire,
an illusion of a slow burn.

You bloodletting fool;
pouring yourself into her kettle.
There is no benefit to giving your love away
to a woman so cursed.

She knows what she holds in her cupped hands;
she watches from the reflections in your eyes.
And she knows not what you will take,
but that you will
take.

You didn't know
the kiss that stained your lips was the poison
and the time you took from her hands was the fruit.
You were caught too easily
by an untouchable beauty.
You just couldn't look away...
and that, she also knew.

I'm not very into this genre of writing but this sounds great.

Loved the subject matter of this! The four stanza structure plays well and gives good flow. This doesn't get bogged down by too many rich words and is clear.

very well penned, my friend! I couldn't stop myself from reading. If you have time please try to look at my new book ' Patient no.3259' and let me know what you think about it.
