Life is just a masquerade

A costume party till the end

And with false faces, we parade

We galavant and we pretend

We wear our masks of comedy

While tragedy lies deep within

Make sure our personalities

Are modified so we fit in

Our minds are weary, torn and weak

Our hearts are broken, scarred and bruised

In our attempt to seem unique

The same guidelines are overused

We emulate the status quo

And tear each other down with hate

Because we fear what we don't know

And fear itself, perpetuates

So hiding is our way of life

Behaving like superiors

Disguising all the pain and strife

That makes up our interior

This vicious cycle will persist

Till we decide we won't be fucked

By senseless evil that exists

In social rules that we construct
