Honeybees and peppermint trees

Cut hay in fields

of bluegrass seeds.

Straw hats and bandana rags

fighting the sun for relief at last.

Briars and thornes

Cover the path ,

to the field

of the watermelon patch .

Mosquitos and sweat bees

bite and sting ,

Swarm over me

I itch and scream.

Turkey mites infest my ankles

as I wallow through the weeds

to post these wire cables.

From tree to tree

I try my best

to not disturb

the hornets nest.

Dusk arrives

and,, coolness calls out ,

but when I walk inside

the Air conditioning goes out.

,, Summer. You love it so much. .
