i am sensing you in the fall wind

as it moves closer and in

Tapping your toes on the leaves

the trees

(they are silver)

(they glisten)

your wheat colored hair moves in the whispered wind

the sun on your back

(your wings!)

still

belongs

to summer

fall(ing)

forward

into

fall

remembering

fall(ing)

back

into memory

this moment

at

the

moment

looking to

looking to

(the next moment)

moves me into

the next

fall(ing)

into the

next

this moment

falling

forward into fall

i fall

i fall

i fall

into memory

remembering

i search for you

(yes, i still search for you.)

my arms

looking

making combative attempts to find you,

or as a child lunges forward, eagerly,

to capture a butterfly in flight

that elusive

you

body free

I remember

To remember

That elusive you

I’m falling

Forward

Into fall

Into fall

Into fall
