A poem about a high school sweetheart. One who unfortunately allowed distance to tear what was once so strong apart.

I've loved you, For half a year now. I've been holding your hand, And kissing your lips since you were 18.

They say we're too young to know, If how we feel is really love. But I know in my heart, That you're the one I want.

Now I'm loving you, At year 18. My love for you is strong, And your love for me still goes on.

Things have changed, Plans have been made. But I know that what we have, Can last through this hurricane.

I've loved you since I was 17, And I know I'll still feel the same way at 70. You're the dark side of my light, The moon to my sun.

I can't see myself anywhere, Without you by my side. And in less than four months, I'll be miles away.

Distance can't break what we have, Time away can't tear us apart. We can do this, Now that we'll be past 18.
