A Song Unsung

A long lonely song, heard but never sung,
All the days while you were fresh faced and young.
Crushed and compressed under a soulless scheme,
With your flowered mind bound by much esteem.

Though your dandy figure cannot turn back,
My eyes strain to erase time’s cold attack.
Still more corrupting lines appear to trace,
A hard song’s sound; stains upon on your face.

Sing, of youth’s lost days! Careless uncried tears.
Past moments now cried in the song of years!
