To think I could be defeated...Although you were my rival you did spectacular.I shall take my bow by opening my heart and revealing my wisdom. The history of this place.

The tower that haunts this land, the tower controlled by the living dead and unrested spirits, the tower that points to the heavens has long and dark history. It feels like yesterday when they started building the ancient tower.

The leader of a long dead tribe wanted a way to reach the heavens, so they instructed their followers to build a tower that will reach the heavens. The leader wanted to meet the Gods who created them. When news spread around about the tower, the people laughed as they laid each slab of stone down one by one. Each stone feeling heavier and colder than the last. The tribe worked tirelessly in the deserts intense blaze and the nights deadly winds. It would take years to construct a tower that large, but they marched on. Soon a long and harsh year went by. 1 year turned to 10 years. 10 turned to 20. 20 turned to 50. A whole new generation of people were now constructing the long dead leaders tower. And so 50 turned to 100.

It took them a century to construct a tower that reached the gods. As the new generation of the tribe ascended the tower, the intense heat turned to a freezing cold wind. They were on the verge of freezing to death. A few did. The tribe marched on, deciding against turning back and dishonoring the fallen. Through many hardships and trials ascending the Stone Tower, they reached the top.

They’ve reached the heavens. The tribe looked at the beings who created them. Three golden Goddesses and one man, though he didn’t appear to be godlike. He seemed mortal, more of a personal guard. Dressed in a cloak with two swords, shining like pure silver with no dull edge to them, set ablaze with eternal fire, one at each side of his torso. To their shock is was their long dead leader, recruited by the Goddesses to serve and protect them.

The Goddesses asked the tribe how they’ve achieved the impossible. When the tribe pointed at the tower they constructed, the Goddesses were in shock and awe. They decided to grant the tribe one wish. The tribe told them about how their leader wanted their tribe to ascend to the heavens to simply meet the creators of the prosperous land and asked simply to be seen as equals. The tribe didn’t need godlike power to ascend to the heavens;to get inside the Goddesses domain. They didn’t want anything other than to achieve the leaders wishes. The Goddesses were very displeased with this notion. They didn’t think that Gods and their creations should be equals. They lied about agreeing to them being seen as equals.

They insisted on giving the tribe something, so they taught them a song. A song that will allow them to have soldiers with no hearts should they ever need them. As the tribe were travelling back down the tower, the Goddesses didn’t want the secrets of the song leaving the heavens, so they instructed the guard to shoot an arrow of light into the tower.

He reluctantly shot that arrow into the blood-stained red gem of the tower, a symbol of their people, causing it to turn upside down. One by one the tribe fell down a darkened sky as the tower changed the direction it was facing. Instead of going to the heavens, they went to the deepest and most torturous parts of hell itself. As the man stood in horror and agony watching his masters laugh at the tribe, he took it upon himself to correct the tower. He carved a beautiful temple in their name, but made it impossible to grapple the tower without an army, an army created by the song only one other person knew, the current King of the valley.

The guard descended the tower and informed the tribe about the atrocity the Goddesses caused and decided to teach the tribe combat in order to wage war against the Goddesses. Before he waged war against the Goddesses, his tribe needed the song the King knew. As the man couldn’t expose his connection with the Goddesses, he instructed his members to spy on the castle and force the song out of the King.

When he left the tribe and proceeded back to the heavens, the Goddesses were there waiting for him. They knew of his plan to wage war on the Goddesses for their slaughter of his tribe. He was cast down from the heavens to be forever trapped inside the temple he created, trapped in his mortal torment, awaiting the day when the one person who can best him in combat can receive and use the cursed item. It’s been 1000 years since that day.

The Goddesses turned his beautiful and peaceful temple into a den for the dead. Monsters invaded the area and caused the once peaceful temple to be a battleground of the dead and living. The valley suffered as well, as a man made a deal with the devil to obtain ultimate power. He turned the once beautiful valley into a valley only suited for the dead. The dead tribe members have haunted the ancient land since their death, awaiting their master’s return, unaware that the war against the Goddesses and kingdom is over. He was in the forsaken temple for 1000 years waiting someone, anyone who can best his skills and rid him of his pain and regret. Deep within the temple he awaited the one worthy of wielding the same object that caused his eternal pain and suffering.

You have bested me in combat. You are now worthy of wielding the ancient weapon of the Goddesses.

If you shoot that which releases the sacred golden light into the blood-stained, red emblem outside the temple... it shall rearrange things, in which the Earth is born in the heavens and the moon is born on the Earth.Do not forget these words

Die I shall, leaving no corpse…

That is the law for us Garo...
