Why its great to be an Atheist.

What is an atheist?

Someone who makes a conscious decision to not believe in any god or religion.

Benefits of being an Atheist.

  1. You are not bogged down by doctrines and dogma, you are free to make your own decisions’ and make your own way through life. You are the captain of your own ship free to sail in any direction you please.

  2. You are not biased or prejudiced against any other people’s personal or religious beliefs. live and let live without trying to bend other peoples will to your own belief system. Why give us different religious beliefs and pit us against each other? if their is truly only one god then show yourself! part the clouds and give us a wave to let us know you truly exist. That would stop all this squabbling and killing and you get what you want. An entire united planet worshipping you. Is that too much to ask for? Apparaently it seems it is.

  3. You do not have any religious restrictions as to what you can wear, eat, drink or what you can or cannot do. You are not bogged down with feelings of guilt or sin; you can just have a good time and enjoy yourself. Why should I be made to feel ashamed of what I look like? when the Bible tells believers they are made in their god's image, they should be proud of it and not hide behind layers of clothing peeking out from behind veils. If you are not allowed to drink certain drinks or eat certain foods, then why are they there? what difference does it make? none!

  4. You do not have to participate in old archaic religious ceremonies or rituals which their true meaning has been lost in antiquity. You don’t need to stop what you are doing to pray several times a day or starve yourself to prove your loyalty to a nonexistent god. You are free to choose how to wear your hair, what clothes to wear and makeup and deodorants and perfumes to use. What difference does it make how you wear your hair or perform personal grooming, is taking pride in how you look a Sin? or should we all go around unwashed scruffy, covered in lice and stinking to make our god happy?

  5. You don’t get the urge to start wars due to your religious beliefs as you don’t have any. Most wars and killings in this world can be statistically blamed on religion and religious peoples extreme beliefs. History is steeped in blood all in the name of believers gods. The crusades, Witch trials, inquisitions, tudor war on Catholics, etc etc What happend to love thy neighbour and turning the other cheek. Any religion that advocates the killing of your fellow man, because of their different beliefs and offers them rewards for their killing, is not something to look up to, but is a tyrannical terrorist regime.

  6. An atheist embraces and encourages technological, scientific and medical advances and would not restrict or refuse to use them due to religious beliefs that their god would get angry by using them. You are free to educate yourself as you wish without persecution. Why would a god give you the capacity to make technological advances, yet deny you the right to use them? it does not make sense. Perhaps the religious books were written in a time of technological ignorance and are archaic and outdated for this modern world?

  7. Atheists tend to be more open minded and free thinking and can see both sides of an argument without getting angry that the other side do not believe in their dogmatic rationale. Everyone is entitled to their opinion without feeling threatened by an imposing opposite religious faction. We are all equal, men, women and animals, we inhabit the same world and should all have the freedom and respect of one another.

  8. An Atheist tends to see things in a logical and pragmatic way; they tend to become less stressed with their own decisions in life. They do not expect some supernatural being to step in and help them solve their daily problems.

  9. Atheists tend to take responsibility for their own actions, they have no choice really, they can’t blame a nonexistent god for their failings or actions of violence. They take full responsibility without off loading their failures onto their god. We do not suffer from a god complex! god did not make me do it, I chose to do it! is a more truthful rationale.

  10. An atheist has a great feeling of self worth without feeling that they have to constantly venerate and bow down to a god and look for their guidance and forgiveness, or look for their approval in everything that they do.

  11. Atheists are happy free living people who respect others for their beliefs without prejudices against race colour or creed or sexuality preferences.

  12. They also do not have any feelings of guilt over being sexually active and can enjoy themselves on a physical level without feelings of being dirty or sinful in the eyes of a nonexistent god.

  13. Why give us the power of procreation and then tell us its a sin when we enjoy it. that is what makes us human. does god want us to not enjoy lovemaking and want us to purely rut like animals in a field for the sole purpose of producing more people to venerate him?

  14. Life is just so much simpler and less complicated without having to feel the need to venerate a god on a daily basis. After all why should we?

  15. I find the idea of being here, my sole purpose for existence to pray to an egotistical god just to make them feel good and powerful quite distasteful and I want no part in that kind of manipulative structure.
