The New York Knicks; what happened? What happened to you? This team is a joke, entirely a joke. Head case Carmelo Anthony, while talented, couldn't bring you to the promise land, as most enternal optimist Knicks apologists figured he would. Knicks apologists will probably blame the referees, complain and cry, its what most team apologists do. When there is no one else to blame, blame the referees. It's a game everyone loves. We call it the merry-go-round blame game. It's everyone else's fault, not the Knicks' front office, not the players, not the coaching, nope, everyone else's.

Now, this team is one man; Latvian big man Kristaps Porzingas. Porzingas is the only thing going for the Knicks at this moment. He is their Lebron James, their Steph Curry. Don't get me wrong, nobody will ever be Steph Curry, nobody (perhaps a topic for another article another day). Porzingas is the Knicks at this time, the Knicks must build around him if they want to suceed. He is their face, the only reason they are even remotely relevant. The same can be said about Lebron James being the entire Cavaliers (and now he'll be the entire Lakers team. Again, maybe another topic for another article). Asking the question 'should the Knicks keep Porzingas?' is like asking 'should the doctor give me a new heart?' The easy answer is a gigantic yes. Hell, Porzingas could do what most stars in the NBA want to do; join the Golden State Warriors and win every championship for at least the next 10 to 15 years. What difference would it make? The Warriors would love another strong talent like Porzingas.

The point, however, still stands. The Knicks need Kristaps Porzingas if they want to possibly sucessfully build up their team, and maybe me any good, maybe even a contender in the Eastern Conference. I am not optimistic about this situation, and I'm fairly certain it will be bungled. Porzingas will go be sucessful somewhere else, maybe the Warriors, with good old Steph Curry, Clay Thompson and Draymond "kicks you in the balls a lot" Green, or whoever throws a fuckload of money at him. Or maybe he can fuck off back to Latvia and play for chump change in Latvia. That second scenario seems much less likely, but still possible.
