Again, I feel the strain of the world on my shoulders.

The tension drilled into my thoughts.

Memories with no solace or ease,

And now another burden is thrust upon me.

I package it up, and tie it with a black bow.

I'm tied together with this stupid smile,

Because it's easier when the world doesn't know.

But when I'm drowning and it's too much to bare,

I dismiss this parcel of deprivation

To a remote destination.

It'll detonate, it's only a matter of where.

And when I feel the strain pulling me down again,

I feel the string unraveling.

This tightly wound display, brings only devastation

To whomever's in its way.

Might as well wrap me up and sprinkle me with anthrax,

Label me "Walking Dead" in bold text

And ship me to my suitor.

Write him a letter that will ensure he will recede.

My internal time bomb scares the hell out of me.

It's nobody's fault but my own,

Although I would have remained ignorant

If I had never been shown.

Again, I feel my own failures dwelling within me.

This majestic figure is trying to be freed,

But my own despair keeps stopping me.

I know I'm in a spiral withdrawing down

When I'm beyond lyrical aid,

And I can feel the blood in my veins grow colder.

Again, I feel the strain of the world on my shoulders.
