We are all players on a stage of absurdity? Poorly juggling careers, relationships?, and mortgages Some call us court jesters while others call us fools I'm inclined to believe that we are neither We are men and women, boys and girls Trying to squeeze eternity out of seconds Living moment to moment Too many of us have seen the brevity of life So we juggle chainsaws and lit torches Blood and burned flesh remind us how to live We wear our scars as battle flags Flaunting them proudly As if to say " I have lived and loved and lost." We bring knives to every gunfight Turn mountains into molehills Carve our names into bathroom stalls WE WERE HERE Never forgetting who we are Never forgetting each other Our optimism bound by no chain Bring me a magnifying glass and a little sunlight I will burn your name into my chest Sear my skin with our memories Because without you all I am nothing
