The blue begins to fade into monochrome,

Rays of sunlight, start to flicker and fade.

A low roar, echoes off in the distance,

Storm is coming, good thing I’m at home.

The heavens open up, and the rain comes down,

Goes from a drizzle to a downpour, flooding the city.

Blue flashes of light, illuminate my lightless room,

Everyone’s hiding away, the city is a ghost town.

The rain is having a boxing match with the window pane,

Not just a pitter patter, they’re fighting to the death.

The wind is whipping up the fallen leaves, akin to a tornado,

Try to drown out the violent sounds, but it’s in vain.

Summer storms are intense, but they’re short lived,

Violent sounds fade away, the silence is peaceful.

The blue has finally came, sunlight returns to us,

Look up at the sky, a double rainbow has arrived.
