Downhearted slump

Mind can’t shift pass an emotional speed bump

Which continues to lump me over an addictive hump

I chose to step down off my throne

Pleasure seeking in the jungle where the nature of a hungry beast roams

Eyes closed in the dark trying to find my way home

I have left the cold winds and the turbulent storms behind

It’s time for my temple, heart, and mind to align

Peace and comfort rediscovered of yesteryears

No more tissue, eyes devoid of meaningless tears

I need some form of mental clarity while on the run

A hideaway, where no one moves, not even the rotation of the sun

No baggage, no attachments, just intellectual desires to keep my thoughts warm

A moth to the flames almost had me torn

Lyrical bling like jewels once adorned

Caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly has been reborn

Be higher, echoes on Jasmine fragrance laden air

Settled wings, now residing on a hope and a prayer

No Band-Aid to fit an emotional bleed

Who knows were the winds will take my needs

I looked over the mountaintop

So serene to the optical senses, you could hear a pin drop

Doves flew in the distance past the horizon

Echoes serenading from above, advising me to stand strong

Write your own song

The wonderment of life washed over me

My thoughts stretched out as far as the rainbow could see

Naked reflection stared me down

Mental assessing me, absence of sound

Spiritually repairing my inner groove

Second chance to redeem myself given as life’s balm has soothed
