It's insane how one small act of k i n d n e s s

can make your day brighter,

how a smile can make the weight you have been carrying, much lighter

How some people just make you want to smile,

even though you have forgotten, because it has been a while

I’ve learned so much this summer about people and how they act,

how it is only a reflection of themselves, how I don’t have to react

I’ve met so many people who are so much older than me,

but who are so kind and inspiring and I wish I could be

like them when I get older, wish I could be bolder

In a few weeks I’ll never see them again,

but I’m proud to call them friends

or something else,

maybe angels sent from heaven making me believe in myself

Showing me that perfection is not real

and that it won’t change the way they feel about me

because they see I’m trying,

and I would be lying if I don’t admit how much it matters

that when I was about to shatter and I believed I was left alone

they guided me through, and advised repeatedly;

don’t let their w o r d s get to you.
